みなさん、おはようございます。

先週の土曜日にローマ教皇が来日されました。これはヨハネパウロ2世が来日されてから38年ぶりの事であります。

本校でもフランシスコ教皇の等身大のパネルをマニラのアサンプションからシスターが運んでこられ、私が関西国際空港までお迎えに行き、聖堂に置かせて頂いておりました。

来日は、カトリック校にとって、とても素晴らしいかけがえのない出来事であります。昨日は長崎、本日は東京でミサを挙げられます。

フランシスコ教皇からのメッセージは「PROTECT ALL LIFE」です。
「すべての命を大切にしましょう。」すなわち、「protect your life, protect animals, and protect plants」です。自分だけの命だけでなく、周りの人々、動物、植物に至るまでです。周りを大切に思いやることにより「喜び」に繋がり、これら「Security, Peace and Stability(安全・平和・安定)」が、未来の日本だけでなく世界平和へと繋がってきます。

そして、「LOVE, COMPASSION and KINDNESS（愛情・思いやり・親切）」な心を持つことを心がけてください、と言う事です。

 

では、今からSr. MarJoから、フランシスコ教皇のメッセージについてお話して頂きます。

Good morning everyone and welcome to another school week!I am happy to be able to share with you this morning something that is very special to us – your Assumption Sisters here in Japan.These days are special days because our Holy Father, Pope Francis is here in Japan.And I am happy and grateful to share our joy with you. Because you are part of our Assumption Family

Pope Francis comes with a message – PROTECT ALL LIFE – as you will see in the theme song that was composed for this occasion.Today he is in Tokyo.  Yesterday he was in Nagasaki and Hiroshima and I felt that a part of his message especially to the youth in Nagasaki is something I would like to share with you this morning. He said that all human beings, all of us, share something in common, and that is our deepest longing for security, peace and stability. And he invited the youth of Japan, you are included among them, to participate in fulfilling this longing for SECURITY, PEACE and STABILITY in your country. You are the future of Japan and you have a part to play in making this beautiful future a reality.And he suggested how we can do this – that is by breaking the cycle of mistrust and violence and by replacing this with relationships of LOVE, COMPASSION and KINDNESS.

I would like to echo this invitation of Pope Francis to you. Let us try our best to choose LOVE, COMPASSION, KINDNESS, in our thoughts, in our words and in our actions.Let us all try to become persons who PROTECT ALL LIFE, who build peace and harmony in ourselves, among one another, in our homes and wherever we may be.LET US TRY TO DO THIS TOGETHER HERE IN ASSUMPTION KOKUSAI.Thank you for listening.
